Monday

Today in class we watched a couple videos. The first video was about mummification. The ancient Egyptian developed mummification and preserved the body for afterlife. All organs were removed. Body was covered with salt for about 40 days. Oils were rubbed on the body. The mummy was placed on a wooden board. A pouch was placed on the test. A cloth was wrapped around the mummy. On to the next video. Civilization lasted from 3000 B.C to 332 B.C. It was easy to plant seeds near the Nile. Old Kingdom period lasted from  2649- 2152. Middle Kingdom lasted from 2040 - 1640 and New Kingdom from 1550 - 1070 B.C. The next video was about Harun Al Ashid and his son. He positioned himself at the bottom of  the Pyramid of Kias. He came with many tools to find the pharaohs treasures.

We talked about the 14 animals that are domesticated.  Most of the animals were from the middle east, but one of the animals was from South America. The best kind of animals are the ones that reproduce at young ages such as 1 or 2. We also talked about zebras and how they could not be domesticated animals because as soon as they would hear a noise, they would freak out.
